About the Company
Dawson Mine is a large and dynamic open cut steelmaking coal mine operation made up of two operating pits – Central and South. It commenced operations in 1961 and is one of the oldest coal mining operations in Central Queensland. Dawson Mine was the first mine in Australia to export coal to Japan in 1961 and was the first mine to introduce draglines into its operation in 1963.
About the Role
We would like to invite applications from experienced Dragline Operators to join our Dawson Operation in Moura, QLD on a full-time permanent basis. The Dawson operation is a large open-cut coal mining operation showing no signs of slowing down! You will work as part of a team operating our BE1370 & Marion 8200 Draglines to produce Steelmaking Coal whilst demonstrating safe working behaviours and practices to achieve set targets.
Qualifications & Certifications
To be successful for this position, you will ideally hold:
- Be an experienced dragline operator with Dozer skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge in dragline set up, operations and dig methods.
- Provide proof of your operating experience.
- Display excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be a team player with a safety first mindset.
- Drive optimization and continuous performance improvement.
