The opportunity

Reporting to the Principal Project Cost control, the purpose of this role is to provide a day-to-day detailed cost control service to the project lead of all assigned projects and assist with the development and delivery of efficient project cost control processes.

Reconciling contract package costs and maintaining systems to assist with ensuring costs are effectively controlled and reported against the approved project budget.

This is a permanent full-time role based at our West Perth office, conveniently located near the City West train station.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day project cost control support across assigned projects
  • Prepare monthly and fortnightly cost reports, forecasts and cash flow updates
  • Monitor and reconcile project costs against approved budgets and scope
  • Maintain accurate cost data, forecasts and cost‑to‑complete estimates
  • Identify and escalate cost variances, risks and forecast overruns
  • Raise and manage cost‑related change requests as required
  • Support Project Managers to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Ensure compliance with project and finance cost control governance
  • Partner with Finance and project teams to align forecast and actual costs
  • Uphold PLS safety, quality and environmental standards

About you

  • Experience in project cost control within mining, construction or major projects
  • Degree, diploma or trade qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Strong understanding of project budgets, forecasts and cost reporting
  • Proven ability to identify and manage cost variances and financial risks
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Confident communicator who works effectively with project and finance teams
  • Proactive, solutions‑focused and able to see tasks through to completion
  • Commitment to safety, quality and compliance in a corporate project environment
