About the Role
Civmec are in search of experienced Contract and Commercial professionals seeking part-time opportunities to assist in the successful delivery of existing and upcoming projects within our Construction division. You can expect to play a critical role in the delivery of one of our many major projects in which you will drive successful contract and commercial outcomes. All roles are based in our Henderson office. Candidates seeking a minimum of 15-hours per week are encouraged to apply.
You will be joining a highly experienced, professional project team in which you can expect to grow and develop a long term Civmec career.
The Role
The successful candidates will drive outcomes and support in a variety of project commercial and contract functions. The precise role will be finalised between successful candidates and Civmec collaboratively, we want to utilise your skills and strengths! Generally, tasks across the contracts and commercial teams include but are not limited to:
- Formation and management of RFQ packages and Subcontractor tendering;
- Administration of subcontract packages, including management of variations, EOT and daywork claims;
- Perform cost control and reporting duties, including for end of month reporting and client contract reports;
- Attend weekly head contract or subcontractor meetings, representing Civmec’s commercial interests as required;
- Drafting and submission of notices of delay, extensions of time and/or Variations, as required;
- Provide support to the project team in the preparation of relevant notices within designated timeframes;
- Provide advice and strategic input to the project team on various contract and commercial matters;
- Maintaining various contract and correspondence registers; and
- Maintain company standards of documentation and records for Quality Assurance purposes;
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Tertiary Qualification in a relevant field is desired but not necessary;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a relevant role;
- Previous experience within the construction industry is essential;
- Diligence, attention to detail and an ability to work autonomously when required;
- Strong, clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal; and
- Strong understanding of contract and commercial management and/or procurement related functions.
Please note: while we are committed to flexibility in role and hours of engagement, this is not a remote working role, and candidates must be available to work from Civmec’s Henderson office.
