About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Commercial & Contracts Specialist to join WesTrac, one of the world’s leading Caterpillar dealerships and a trusted partner across Australia’s mining and construction industries.
Reporting to the Commercial and Contracts Manager, in this pivotal role, you will act as a trusted commercial advisor to the business, guiding stakeholders through the end-to-end contract lifecycle. You’ll influence smarter commercial decisions, protect organisational value, and enable strong, compliant sales outcomes — all while building collaborative relationships across the organisation.
Location: Guildford PDC
Roster: Mon to Fri – 8.5 hours per day (including lunch break)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with WesTrac standards, benchmarks, and commercial best practice.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support pre- and post-award compliance and effective contract delivery.
- Interpret contractual terms and conditions, identify commercial and operational risks, and recommend risk-mitigation strategies.
- Provide expert advice and act as a key internal contact for legal and commercial consultation.
- Draft and review contractual correspondence, variations, and scope-of-work documents.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to enhance the overall contracting experience and drive continuous improvement.
About You / Requirements
- Degree qualifications in Commerce, Law, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial contract management, with strong knowledge of advanced contracting principles.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and manage complex relationships across a diverse organisation.
- Experience identifying issues, escalating risks, and supporting practical resolution strategies.
- Strong attention to detail with advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Exposure to project management or project delivery environments (highly regarded).
