Hays is partnering with a major organisation operating across multiple locations. With a new systems landscape being introduced, they are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join their established applications and data team. You’ll work within an established technology function that collaborates closely with both local and offshore delivery partners.
Your new role
As the dedicated Business Systems Analyst for HR and Payroll, you will be central to the support and continuous improvement of the organisation’s SAP Payroll (PY) environment during a crucial phase of change. Your work will directly contribute to a major S/4HANA program and ongoing Workday integrations, while ensuring the stability of day‑to‑day payroll operations.You’ll partner closely with stakeholders across HR, payroll, finance and IT, gathering requirements, producing clear documentation, and helping implement system enhancements. You will also contribute to strengthening internal process documentation following recent structural changes.
In this role, you will:
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into functional and technical documentation.
- Support SAP Payroll and Workday system configuration and validate payroll functionality across multiple agreements.
- Assist with S/4HANA‑related changes, updates, enhancements and integration activities.
- Develop test cases, coordinate testing cycles and verify outcomes across complex workflows.
- Improve HR and Payroll processes, including documentation quality and audit compliance.
- Work with onshore and offshore partners on incident resolution, enhancements and support activities.
- Operate effectively within a highly regulated environment requiring strong controls and segregation of duties.
- Provide guidance to end users and help uplift knowledge across the applications team.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong Business Analyst capability, including stakeholder engagement, documentation and requirements analysis.
- Demonstrated experience working closely with external vendors supporting SAP HR/Payroll systems
- Understanding of Workday–SAP payroll integrations and an understanding of S/4HANA environments.
- Experience working within unionised payroll environments and managing multiple enterprise agreements.
- Strong background in process mapping and test documentation for complex system changes.
- Ability to work under tight project timelines and adapt within fast‑moving environments
