About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Business Partner - People & Culture to join our Cowal Gold Operation in central western NSW. Reporting to the Superintendent – People & Culture, this site based role plays a critical part in delivering high quality P&C support to leaders and employees across the operation.

Operating in a true business partnering model, you will be responsible for partnering with allocated departments and providing end to end People & Culture support across the employee lifecycle. This includes recruitment, performance management, employee relations, policy interpretation, engagement initiatives and workforce planning.

The Cowal environment is fast paced and operationally focused, requiring someone who is comfortable problem solving, managing competing priorities and building strong relationships on site. You will also have exposure to broader group wide programs and projects, with support from both the site and corporate People & Culture teams.

This role offers the opportunity to grow your capability in a mining and heavy industry environment while developing meaningful partnerships that have a real impact on site outcomes.

About You

You are a capable and confident People & Culture generalist who thrives in a hands on, operational environment. You enjoy working closely with leaders, are comfortable having constructive and sometimes challenging conversations, and can apply policy and process pragmatically.

You will ideally bring:

• Proven experience in a broad HR or People & Culture generalist role, preferably within a site based, industrial or fast paced environment
• Strong knowledge of core HR fundamentals including employee relations, performance management and recruitment
• The ability to build trust and credibility with leaders and frontline employees
• A proactive, self-directed approach with the confidence to work autonomously
• Well developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong administration skills and experience using MS Office and HRIS (SuccessFactors experience is highly regarded)

Mining experience is advantageous but not essential. We welcome candidates with transferable experience from heavy industry, manufacturing, agriculture or regional environments. Tertiary qualifications are preferred but not mandatory where strong experience is demonstrated.

This roster is 5:2 / 4:3, 10 hour days. Residential or DIDO to West Wyalong.
