Our Opportunity


Work location: Eliwana

Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

**Roster:**8 Days on 6 days off - FIFO ex Perth

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Blast Crew member to work an 8/6 roser fifo Perth, the role is responsible for ensuring drill and blast activities are conducted in a safe and cost-efficient manner.

Reporting to the Drill and Blast Supervisor, the position will also be required to provide sufficient quantity and quality of blasted stock for mining or processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate behaviour that aligns with FMG values
  • Comply with Zero Harm principles daily
  • Meet daily operational targets
  • Perform all duties as directed by the Drill & Blast Supervisory Team
  • Operating machinery in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensuring all associated equipment is maintained in a safe condition
  • Ensuring Drill & Blast patterns are kept to a high standard
  • Using techniques and procedures that improve performance and cost efficiencies

Qualifications and Experience


  • WA Class C Driver's Licence (manual)
  • Dangerous good security clearance
  • Current WA Shotfirer's Licence (highly regarded)
  • Mobile equipment operation in mining industry – desirable
  • Communication/ interpersonal skills - two-way operation
  • Knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act/Regs
  • Basic computer skills
  • Time management skills
