Your impact

Reporting to the Team Lead, Technical Training, you’ll lead the coordination and delivery of end to end technical training for site-based mining teams—helping our people go home safe and our operation perform at its best. You’ll technical training programs align with site procedures, regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Working closely with frontline leaders, operational teams and external providers, you’ll plan, schedule and facilitate practical, high impact sessions tailored to the mining environment. Your work will strengthen capability, compliance and confidence across the workforce.

As part of our team you will also

  • Partner with leaders to assess training needs, identify skill gaps and prioritise capability uplift
  • Design and deliver engaging programs that meet Newmont, legislative and site compliance requirements
  • Maintain and improve training materials and technical documentation, keeping them current and user friendly
  • Measure effectiveness through feedback, observations and performance data—then refine programs for continuous improvement
  • Coach and support teams through field engagement, including incident investigations, JHAs, inspections and safety interactions
  • Liaise with external trainers and industry bodies to ensure currency and best practice alignment
  • Monitor and report compliance with regulatory, safety and training standards across the operation
  • Plan and deliver ongoing training initiatives, supporting crew development and operational readiness
  • Use learning systems and technology to improve scheduling, records, reporting and learner experience.

Prerequisites for your success in the role

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience delivering training in mining or a comparable heavy-industry environment
  • Strong working knowledge of mining HSE obligations, compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with RII Training Packages and competency-based training frameworks
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning management systems to manage schedules, records and reporting
  • Auditor certification and/or Verification of Competency experience (desirable)
  • Clear, confident communication and the ability to build trust with a wide range of site stakeholders
  • A proactive approach—comfortable working independently and as part of a tight-knit, site-based team
  • Experience creating site-based learning that applies adult learning principles and supports practical capability
  • Sound understanding of risk management and safe work practices in an operational environment
  • Full working rights in Australia (mandatory).

This is a permanent, site-based role at Boddington on a drive-in, drive-out basis, working a 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off roster.
