Your new company

We are seeking experienced Underground Heavy Duty Fitters to join our underground maintenance team supporting mechanised mining operations across Western Australia. This role is suited to a safety‑focused tradesperson with strong mechanical aptitude and proven experience maintaining underground mobile equipment in production environments.

Your new role

• Carrying out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and breakdown repairs on underground mobile equipment
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
• Performing component change‑outs including engines, transmissions, axles, pumps, and braking systems
• Conducting inspections and fault finding in line with OEM guidelines
• Completing work orders, pre‑starts, and maintenance documentation accurately
• Working safely in confined underground environments while maintaining housekeeping standards
• Collaborating closely with supervisors, operators, and other trades to minimise downtime
• Ensuring compliance with site safety systems, policies, and procedures

Equipment

• Sandvik underground loaders, trucks, and jumbos
• Epiroc / Atlas Copco fleet (LHDs, trucks, development drills)
• CAT underground equipment
• Normet, MacLean, or similar ancillary underground equipment

What you'll need to succeed

• Australian recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic qualification (Cert III or equivalent)
• Minimum 2–3 years’ underground mining experience (hard rock preferred)
• Strong hydraulic and fault‑finding capability
• Experience working on underground mobile plant in production environments
• Sound knowledge of underground safety requirements and isolation procedures
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong time management and problem‑solving skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices
