Surface Drill Fitter 2/1

We are currently seeking an experienced Surface Drill Fitter to join our maintenance team supporting large-scale surface drilling operations across Western Australia. This is a hands‑on role suited to a motivated mechanical fitter with strong fault‑finding skills and proven experience maintaining heavy-duty drill rigs in a mining environment.

This position offers consistent work, strong safety culture, and the opportunity to work across modern drill fleets on well-established mine sites.

Your new role

• Carrying out scheduled and breakdown maintenance on surface drill rigs
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
• Working on rotary, DTH, and top hammer drilling equipment
• Overhauling engines, compressors, gearboxes, pumps, and rotating equipment
• Completing inspections, servicing, and component change‑outs
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and schematics
• Accurately completing maintenance records and work orders
• Working collaboratively with operators, supervisors, and planners
• Maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping, and compliance

What you'll need to succeed

Experience with one or more of the following will be highly regarded:

• Epiroc / Atlas Copco (Pit Viper, DML, SmartROC)
• Sandvik (DI / DP / DR series)
• CAT MD series
• Bucyrus / Terex / Cubex
• Other large production or exploration surface drill rigs
• Australian recognised Mechanical Fitter qualification (Cert III or equivalent)
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience maintaining surface drill rigs in mining.
