About the role
We are looking for residential Supervisor Plant Operations to join and support our team in Pannawonica. This role presents an opportunity to lead, mentor and coach your team to safely execute plant activities at a site level ensuring team performance is in line with short term objectives.
It is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to step into a leadership position within a supportive and inclusive environment. You’ll work a residential roster of 3 days on, 4 nights on, 7 days off roster, giving you more time to spend on the things that are important to you.

The town of Pannawonica is supported by a resident doctor, an excellent primary school with options to undertake secondary school studies in a supervised distance education program, supermarket, and a local community gym and youth centre.
Reporting to the Superintendent Plant Operations, you will be working in an inclusive and supportive team, within Fixed Plant, you will be:
- Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures
- Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices
- Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Fixed Plant Operations personnel
- Manage Fixed Plant Operations activities to maximise productivity while minimising cost and environmental impact
- Ensure compliance to relative legislation, including statutory obligations
- Monitor performance of shift production targets and take appropriate action to maintain production requirements in line with business objectives
About you
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Leadership experience and confidence in leading, developing and coaching team members
- Experience in maintenance or operations within a fixed plant or mobile equipment environment (desirable)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Familiarity with work management systems and processes (SAP, Excel, Outlook)
- A Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver's Licence (Manual)
- Statutory Position Legal Exam – Statutory Supervisor

Where you’ll be working
Robe Valley Operations, located on Robe River Kuruma Country, is close to the community of Pannawonica in the scenic Pilbara region, approximately 200km south-west of Karratha.
The operation comprises two key sites: Mesa A, which is primarily fly-in-fly-out, and Mesa J, which is strongly supported by a residential workforce living in Pannawonica.
