About Minerals Australia East Fixed Plant and Processing team
An opportunity exists for an experienced procurement professionals to join the Minerals Australia East Processing team, supporting the BMA and NEC assets across Fixed Plant & Processing value chain.
Reporting to the Manager Mining Services and Processing, this customer-facing team is embedded with our BMA and NSWEC (NEC) Asset customers and represents the Assets within the broader Procurement function, ensuring alignment, accountability and delivery of outcomes that matter to our execution and asset leadership teams.
The team is responsible for procurement across Fixed Plant and Processing activities and includes managing the performance and safety of a wide range of specialised labour providers, equipment and consumables manufacturers, and OEMs.
About the roles
As a Specialist, you will be integral to supporting our operational teams to:
- Build and deliver practical commercial strategies that help our customers meet their priorities.
- Conduct tendering, negotiation and implementation of strategic contracts to obtain favourable commercial outcomes.
- Build and leverages supplier relationships to identify cost optimisation opportunities.
- Identify optimisation opportunities and reduce waste in how we buy and manage contracts.
- Build positive, collaborative and robust relationships with customer teams in the Asset, which are outcomes driven.
- Works closely with Contract Owners to support contractor performance.
- Deliver sustainable commercial outcomes that support safe and reliable processing operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Contract management support across the contract life cycle for scopes across BMA and NEC.
- Support tendering, negotiation and implementation of contracts, working closely with Contract Owners and site stakeholders
- Supplier relationship management focused on improving performance, safety, and value delivery.
- Stakeholder engagement with asset processing teams, maintenance, HSE, engineering and site leadership to deliver outcomes that are safe, efficient and effective.
- “Voice of the customer” focus: identify improvement opportunities while delivering in line with governance requirements and agreed milestones.
About You
Strong commercial acumen
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- End‑to‑end procurement experience, including sourcing, evaluation, award, and contract management
- Demonstrated proficiency in procurement, tendering processes and tools.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and lead change.
- Proven ability to conduct analysis and interpret results to identify key opportunities.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to challenge pre-established conceptions.
- Strong understanding of business improvement principles and practice
- Experience in contract management.
- Ability to manage and influence stakeholders across multiple regions (BMA and NEC).
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Commerce, Supply Chain, or similar preferred
