The Opportunity:
As the Manager Engineering, you are the single point of accountability for the frameworks that ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all Gold Fields Australia assets.
This critical leadership role spans mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines, tasked with embedding engineering governance across our underground and open-pit operations.
By translating complex legislative obligations into practical, executable systems, you will provide the robust engineering foundations required to safeguard asset integrity and support our long-term strategic production plans.

What You’ll Do
- Lead implementation of Group engineering standards across mechanical, electrical and structural disciplines to ensure consistent, risk‑based decision‑making.
- Embed Group asset management frameworks and strategies across Australian assets, aligning maintenance plans with long‑term integrity and production goals.
- Translate engineering legislation and codes into practical site controls and assurance activities that maintain compliance.
- Drive long‑term reliability through strategy optimisation, condition monitoring, RCA programs and frameworks that prevent catastrophic failures.
- Act as senior escalation point for complex engineering issues, build internal capability and lead communities of practice to strengthen cross‑site performance.
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary Engineering degree or Australian‑recognised trade qualification
- Extensive mechanical engineering experience within mining or heavy industry, with strong understanding of mechanical systems, asset management, maintenance practices and structural integrity.
- Proven ability to influence and apply engineering rigour across multiple sites and diverse technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of safety policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, consistently demonstrating required behaviours.
