Senior Project Manager
Technical Resources
Job Description
About the Role
The Opportunity is for an experienced Senior Project Manager / Lead Project Engineer to support the development and delivery of a portfolio of major water infrastructure and capital projects across Western Australia. The position will oversee projects progressing through concept development and front-end planning into engineering, construction, commissioning and operational handover. The portfolio includes water source solutions, treatment facilities, pipelines, reticulation networks, utilities and associated infrastructure. This role is ideally suited to a hands-on project professional who combines strong technical and project engineering capability with proven project management and construction delivery experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead major capital projects from concept development through engineering, execution, commissioning and handover
- Develop project scopes, execution strategies, schedules, budgets and risk management plans
- Manage multidisciplinary engineering consultants, construction contractors and project stakeholders
- Drive engineering quality, constructability, project controls and delivery readiness
- Coordinate technical, commercial, regulatory, operational and construction interfaces
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, cost and risk throughout the project lifecycle
- Support effective decision-making and provide clear project reporting to key stakeholders
About You
You will be an experienced project professional with:
- Significant experience delivering major capital projects within mining, resources, utilities, water, energy or heavy industry
- Demonstrated experience delivering infrastructure projects through engineering, construction and commissioning
- Strong project engineering and project management credentials
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams, engineering consultants and construction contractors
- Strong stakeholder engagement, commercial management and risk management capabilities
- A practical understanding of construction planning, constructability and project execution
- The ability to manage complex project interfaces and competing priorities
Highly Desirable
- Experience delivering water treatment, pipeline, pumping or water infrastructure projects
- Brownfield project delivery experience
- Previous experience working within an owner’s team, EPCM or EPC environment
- Experience leading projects from front-end development through execution and commissioning
What Will Make You Successful
You will be a pragmatic and commercially aware project leader who understands how projects are constructed, not simply how they are designed. You will bring a strong construction mindset, sound judgement and a demonstrated ability to safely deliver complex infrastructure projects within schedule and budget requirements. This is an opportunity to take ownership of technically challenging projects and play a key role in turning early-stage concepts into safe, reliable and operational assets.
