Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Lead or Senior Mechanical Engineer with a power/energy or oil and gas design engineering background to join our team. We are currently delivering projects for a range of clients in the Energy sector. These projects include and are not limited to power generation and energy storage projects. 

This role will be based at our Osborne Park head office until August/September 2026 when we will relocate to our new Head Office on St Georges Tce, Perth. Adjacent to the train station, the City office has state of the art end of journey facilities, including secure storage for bicycles and scooters, a gym, tennis court, basketball hoop and a swimming pool available for all Primero employees.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Produce design deliverables that comply with applicable legislation, standards, client, third party and project requirements.
• Ensure technical compliance of design deliverables.
• Ensure design deliverables are delivered in accordance with the project schedule and budget.
• Ensure designs are fit for purpose and consider all aspects including, cost, constructability, operability and maintainability.

What You ‘Can Do’

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (recognised by IEAust).
• 7+ years Mechanical and Piping design engineering experience in the oil and gas sector.
• Knowledge and practical application of relevant industry codes of practice.
• Ability to rapidly understand and assimilate project and client specific requirements.
• Advanced knowledge and practical application of design theories, principles and practices.
• Advanced level of expertise in technical detail of Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience leading a team of engineering design professionals. (If at Lead or Principal level)
• Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively within a multi-discipline environment.
• Proven ability to work autonomously or as a part of team.
• Strong problem-solving and planning skills.
