About the Role

NRW is involved in the reconstruction and realignment of sections on Toodyay Road, including the construction of a bridge over Jimperding Brook. We are seeking an experienced Senior HSE Advisor to support our civil project delivery teams.

This role will work closely with site leadership to ensure effective implementation of health, safety, environmental, and training systems, while driving continuous improvement and legislative compliance.

To be considered for this position as a Senior HSE Advisor you will possess the following:

  • Substantial experience as a Senior HSE Advisor or HSE Advisor, preferably within a construction or civil infrastructure environment
  • Significant experience working with MRWA on complex infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and mentor teams to drive positive safety outcomes
  • Proven capability to implement and manage HSE management systems, and support operational and project leadership with internal system requirements and compliance
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety
  • ICAM Lead Investigator trained
  • Australian Manual Drivers Licence
  • Tickets and Licences: White Card, First Aid Certificate
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Office Suite and incident management systems
  • Previous experience in a metropolitan based role
  • Sound knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations

As a site based Senior HSE Advisor, you will maintain NRW’s strong safety culture and be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Assisting the project team to implement and embed the Projects Work Health, Safety Environmental and Training Management System
  • Coaching Supervisors in the implementation of hazard and incident prevention on the Project
  • Conduct, investigate and report on all incident investigations inclusive of development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
  • Conducting regular inspections on Health, Safety and Environmental SE processes in line with NRW and Legislative requirements
  • Develop and present innovative ideas to improve Health, Safety and Environmental aspects on the Project to promote ‘A Safe, Day, Everyday’
  • Develop, implement and support HSE education and training programs to create and improve HSE awareness
  • Champion health and safety on site
