About the Company
Pearl Recruitment is partnering with a respected organisation that delivers essential services to remote communities across the Kimberley. We are seeking a hands-on leader to relocate to Kalumburu in a permanent residential position.
This varied role combines essential services maintenance with the supervision of a small community-based team, offering the opportunity to make a genuine impact while enjoying a unique coastal lifestyle.
About the Role
Reporting into the Operations team, your responsibilities will include both technical and supervisory duties including:
- Inspecting and maintaining water and wastewater infrastructure
- Monitoring plant performance and carrying out basic repairs
- Coordinating municipal services including waste management, vegetation control and general community maintenance
- Leading, mentoring and developing a local workforce
- Maintaining service records and ensuring reliable day-to-day operations

- $120,000 - $130,000 per annum + Super

Living in Kalumburu - Important to know
- Kalumburu is extremely remote and is accessible by road during the dry season and by small aircraft year-round. Road access is cut off during the wet season (November - May) .
- Kalumburu is a completely dry community (meaning alcohol is not permitted within the community).
- This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a remote lifestyle and is looking to become part of a close-knit community.
About You
You'll be practical, self-motivated and comfortable living and working in a remote environment. You will have the natural ability to be able to liaise with the indigenous community, understanding their needs and being able to effectively communicate thoughts and idea's and report back any information needed.
Essential:
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Maintenance, utilities, municipal services or similar background
- Strong communication and mentoring skills
- Current C Class Driver's Licence
- First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain
- National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Full Australian working rights
Desirable:
- Trade qualification (plumbing, electrical, mechanical or alike)
- Experience with water, wastewater or essential services
- Previous remote or Indigenous community experience highly regarded
