Plasma Trade Assistant

About the Role

Pearl Recruitment is seeking an experienced Plasma Trade Assistant for our Forrestfield-based client who specialise in precision metal processing and heavy-duty fabrication. This position offers ongoing work on a rotating roster with a genuine pathway to permanent employment.

Plasma Trade Assistant – Forrestfield workshop location – 4/4 rotating roster (4 days on / 4 off / 4 nights on / 4 off)

Rate: $41.65 per hour + superannuation

Status: Ongoing temporary-to-permanent opportunity

Start: Immediate start available

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting Plasma Operators with day-to-day production activities
• Locating, loading and unloading raw steel materials and finished products
• Using overhead cranes to safely move steel plates and materials
• Chipping and grinding finished parts
• Assisting with the removal and handling of completed plasma-cut products
• Completing basic quality checks on raw materials and finished products
• Identifying machine or production issues and escalating these where required
• Supporting general workshop and material handling duties
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Participating in toolbox talks, safety meetings and workplace training
• Following all company procedures, safety requirements and work instructions

What You Require to Be Successful?

• Previous Trade Assistant experience in a manufacturing, fabrication or workshop environment, ideally steel
• Overhead crane experience
• Forklift Licence with operating experience - essential
• Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport
• Overhead magnet system experience - desirable
• Confident using hand and power tools, including grinders
• Strong safety focus and ability to work well in a team
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol assessment
• Unrestricted Australian working rights
• Ability to provide a national police clearance
