The Opportunity

MinRes is seeking a practical and commercially minded Plant Mechanical Engineer to provide technical engineering support across our mobile equipment fleet and asset-management operations.

Reporting to the Manager Engineering, the role will provide technical engineering support for MRL asset management teams. Review, analyse and provide recommendations for continuous improvement & Safety Compliance in the management, design, operation, and maintenance of mobile plant.

This role will work on a Monday to Friday roster at our Osborne Park head office

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice on mobile equipment, workshops, asset-management systems and business processes.
• Lead and support engineering projects from planning through to delivery and close-out.
• Deliver engineering assessments including equipment design, product selection, plant optimisation and technical evaluations.
• Analyse equipment performance, plant rates and costs to identify savings and improvement opportunities.
• Review and improve maintenance and equipment strategies to optimise safety, availability and lifecycle value.
• Support maintenance planning, scheduling, reliability, condition monitoring, budgets and workshop execution.
• Ensure engineering activities meet MinRes requirements, OEM specifications, legislation, relevant standards and industry best practice.
• Champion effective risk assessment and change-management processes across managed equipment.
• Work collaboratively with key operational stakeholders to turn technical data and insight into practical outcomes.

What you’ll bring

• A Mechanical Engineering degree.
• At least three years’ experience in asset maintenance, mobile equipment or a comparable mining, construction or heavy-industry environment.
• Experience with maintenance management systems, compliance, quality assurance and engineering project delivery.
• A sound understanding of mobile mining and earthmoving equipment, relevant Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, reporting and risk-assessment skills.
• The ability to communicate clearly and build effective working relationships across technical and operational teams.
