The Role

Reporting to the Lead Planner – Zinc Lead Concentrator, you will play a key role in developing and coordinating maintenance plans that optimise asset reliability, equipment performance, and operational efficiency across the site. Working closely with maintenance supervisors and execution teams, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities, coordinating resources and materials, and ensuring work management processes are executed effectively. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support business performance targets, and uphold compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and safety requirements within a large-scale mining environment.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of weekly schedules through SAP for maintenance execution departments
  • Procurement of resources, parts and materials, ensuring availability for all scheduled work
  • Championing Maintenance Work Management process and mentoring team members
  • Supporting supervisors and management team to achieve KPI targets
  • Custodian of SAP ensuring all maintenance records are retained as per standards

Required Experience

The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within a mining, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or similar asset-intensive environment. You will have a solid understanding of maintenance work management principles, including the development of weekly maintenance schedules, resource coordination, and work prioritisation to maximise equipment availability and reliability. Experience using SAP or a comparable Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with operational and maintenance teams to achieve business objectives. A sound understanding of mining legislation, compliance requirements, and a strong commitment to workplace health and safety will be highly regarded.

Required Qualifications:

  • Trade Certificate, Mechanical/Electrical Trade Qualification, or Asset Management qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning and scheduling using SAP or a similar CMMS platform.
  • Strong understanding of mining legislation, statutory compliance requirements, and maintenance work management processes.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Project, with the ability to analyse and manage maintenance data effectively.
