Operator - Driller

The Role & Project

This is a great opportunity to be part of an established, high-performing Drill & Blast Team on one of the various minesites that we have here at MACA.  As a Blast Hole Driller, you’ll be responsible for operating rigs safely and efficiently to meet daily production targets. You’ll be a key part of a skilled and supportive team, playing a vital role in delivering precise and productive outcomes and working on an 8:6 roster.

Key responsibilities:

• Drill holes to the right depth and angle as per the drill plan
• Conduct daily pre-start checks and report any equipment issues
• Adjust drilling based on ground conditions
• Follow all safety rules and site procedures
• Work closely with Shotfirers and Supervisors to achieve accurate drill patterns
• Demonstrate knowledge of ground conditions and drilling techniques

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience in a production mining open pit environment
• Epiroc T45 and D65 and Sandvik D1650i, DP1500i and DR410i & CAT MD6250 & CAT 5150 experience preferred
• Current Manual WA driver’s licence
• HR licence advantageous
• Strong communication skills
