Mount Isa Mines is part of Glencore and is seeking motivated and reliable individuals for Operator opportunities within our Zinc Filter Plant. The positions are residentially based in Mount Isa, Queensland.

About the Role

Operator opportunities within our Zinc Filter Plant based in Mount Isa, Mount Isa Mines offering a pathway into the mining industry for hands-on people who enjoy practical work, operating equipment, outdoors and a diverse crew environment. You will gain experience operating plant equipment, supporting concentrate handling activities, and contributing to the safe and efficient production of minerals.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor filter presses, pumps, conveyors, and associated process equipment
• Conduct routine inspections, sampling, plant checks, and report equipment issues
• Assist with concentrate handling, including unloading deliveries and product movement activities
• Complete production reporting, shift records, and safety documentation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment through housekeeping and plant cleaning activities

Qualifications & Requirements

• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Strong commitment to workplace health, safety, and teamwork
• Mechanical aptitude and an interest in plant or equipment operation
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow procedures and instructions
• Loader, Forklift, Bobcat, Excavator, or Overhead Crane tickets are advantageous but not essential
