Protech is currently recruiting experienced Open Pit Technicians on behalf of our client — a dynamic, ASX-listed gold producer and development company. With a portfolio of both established and emerging assets, our client is actively expanding operations at a key gold project in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields.

About the Role

• The Pit Tech positions is offered on a FIFO 8:6 / 7:7 Roster.
• $50-55 per hour
• Temp – Perm Opportunity
• 8:6 / 7:7 Roster Available
• DS / NS
• ASAP Start
• 12 hours days worked/paid

Protech is currently recruiting experienced Open Pit Technicians on behalf of our client — a dynamic, ASX-listed gold producer and development company. With a portfolio of both established and emerging assets, our client is actively expanding operations at a key gold project in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields. The Pit Tech positions is offered on a FIFO 8:6 / 7:7 Roster.

Key Responsibilities

• Support grade control drilling activities, including setting out drill programs, preparing sample bags, pegging holes, coordinating with grade control drillers, and managing sample collection.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of drilled holes, survey status, sample dispatches, and provide reports as required by the Senior Mine Geologist.
• Perform ore spotting and floor level checks to minimise dilution, maximise ore recovery, and ensure material is directed to the correct stockpiles.
• Install Blast Vector Indicators (BVIs) and Blast Movement Monitors (BMMs) as required.
• Carry out ore block mark-outs, including painting, taping, and assisting survey teams as needed.
• Collect and analyse bulk density samples.

Skills & Experience Required

• Experience working in open pits or around RC drill rigs will be highly regarded
• Computing skills
• Current C class manual driver’s licence
• Certificate in Geoscience Field and/or Mining Practices desirable
• Geology Technician or Pit Technician experience REQUIRED
• Forklift ticket desirable
• Senior First Aid certificate desirable

Qualifications & Certifications

• C class manual driver's licence
