About the Company

NRW Civil & Mining has recently been awarded a five-year extension at Karara, providing an exciting long-term opportunity within one of the Mid-West's largest mining operations. Karara is the largest mining operation and first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West, with NRW providing management and technical services across mining, drill and blast, train load out, miscellaneous works and maintenance. Located just a one-hour flight from Perth, Karara offers excellent camp facilities, modern mining equipment and a strong team culture, all on an 8/6 roster.

About the Role

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) or relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Extensive experience in an operational engineering role on a production mine site
  • Strengths in planning, scheduling, budgets, and cost control
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in the operation of Caterpillar, Komatsu and Hitachi earth moving equipment
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence

Key responsibilities

  • Delivering safe and optimal short-term planning/scheduling
  • Liaising with operation teams to ensure production targets are met
  • Contributing to continuous improvement projects
  • Promotion of mine health, safety, and environmental policies
