Job Description

Northern Star Resources is currently seeking a Survey Technician to join our team at Thunderbox Operations. This role offers a strong, long-term career opportunity within our Technical Services function.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, the position operates on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, FIFO from Perth. If you’re looking to join a dynamic team and continue developing your surveying career in a supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Here is what awaits you

  • Drill and blast ring mark-ups
  • Stope drone and CMS surveys
  • Mine heading design and pickup surveys
  • Processing and management of survey data associated with the above tasks
  • Daily maintenance of survey vehicles, including pre-start checks and cleaning
  • Upkeep of the survey stores area
  • Maintenance and cleaning of survey equipment

To thrive in this role, you will need

Experience:

  • Experience using CAD software or exposure to mining environments (desirable)
  • Experience working in high-risk environments around heavy machinery (desirable)
  • Methodical and analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to identify errors and problem-solve effectively
  • Hardworking and able to work well in a team environment
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Quick to learn new software systems
  • Enjoys a balance between office-based work and hands-on, field-based tasks

Qualifications: Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying (or willingness to work towards), along with a current C Class Manual Driver’s Licence.
