About the Company
Our client is a well-established construction materials manufacturer based in Wangara, operating a dry-mix manufacturing facility with a range of automated fixed plant and processing equipment.
About the Role
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their hands-on maintenance team. This is a great opportunity for a trade-qualified fitter looking for a Monday to Friday day-shift role.
The Role Working within a team of approximately 40 people on site, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing fixed plant and associated mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventative and reactive maintenance of fixed plant and machinery
- Mechanical fault finding and breakdown maintenance
- Troubleshooting pneumatic systems and components
- Working with PLC-controlled equipment
- Identifying and rectifying mechanical issues to minimise downtime
- Completing general maintenance and repairs
- Carrying out minor fabrication and modification work as required
- Supporting the wider maintenance team to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
- Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
About You / Requirements
- Australian-recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification
- Previous experience working with fixed plant or industrial machinery
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with pneumatic systems
- An understanding of PLC-controlled equipment
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a small team
- A practical, hands-on approach to maintenance
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- A Forklift Licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
What's On Offer / Benefits
- $60.00 per hour + super + penalties if work over 38 hours p/w
- Monday to Friday - 7:00am to 3:00pm
- Initially temp with the view for permanency
- Wangara location - Free Parking
