About the Company

Ramelius Resources is a gold producer with Mount Magnet MMG operations including open pit, underground, and satellite sites with a 17-year mine life. The Checkers processing plant at Mt Magnet is undergoing a A$223M expansion and upgrade to 4.3Mtpa, with construction expected to complete in the September 2027 quarter.

About the Role

The Mechanical Fitter plays a key part in keeping the Checkers processing plant running safely and efficiently. Working across fixed plant equipment and non process infrastructure, this role carries out both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring high equipment availability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and installations on fixed plant and non-process equipment.
  • Complete work safely in accordance with SOPs and isolation procedures.
  • Use tools and equipment safely and correctly.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in workshop and plant areas.
  • Communicate effectively across crews and work teams.
  • Support a positive team culture and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Report safety incidents, risks, and operational issues promptly.
  • Comply with HSE requirements, including hazard reporting and PPE standards.
  • Participate in the after-hours call-out roster.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.

About You / Requirements

You are a qualified Mechanical Fitter with fixed plant maintenance experience and a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and quality workmanship. You thrive in a team environment, communicate effectively, and take a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

You bring to the role

  • Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate (Cert III or equivalent).
  • Experience in mining, heavy industry, or fixed plant maintenance.
  • Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Current high-risk licence, Working at Heights and Confined Space qualifications.
  • Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
  • Competency operating mobile equipment such as skid steers or integrated tool carriers
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with maintenance management systems and computer-based reporting (Pronto preferred).
  • Exposure to reliability-based maintenance practices (desirable).
