About the Company

Rex Minerals is an Australian mining company dedicated to the development of its flagship A$1.0B Copper-Gold Hillside Project located on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. The project will be a significant contributor to the South Australian economy and will provide employment opportunities for locals and for those looking to move to the Yorke Peninsula.

Hillside is in a fantastic location 150km from Adelaide and is one of the largest undeveloped copper / gold projects in Australia. Stage 1 of the project is fully approved and early-stage site access work has commenced. Further site work and awarding of contracts and building the team to execute the project will continue over 2026 with the Financial Investment Decision (FID) process due to conclude over the next quarter .

The project will be operated under a contract mining model with oversight from an experienced owners’ team in Rex Minerals and the processing plant and non-processing infrastructure teams will be owner employed.

About the Role

The Manager Operational Readiness is a key leadership role based at site and is responsible for leading the transition of the processing plant from construction to operational status, ensuring all systems, processes, and personnel are developed and prepared for smooth, efficient, and safe plant operation. This role is crucial in implementing the final stages of the plant’s commissioning and ensuring that the facility meets performance and safety standards before full-scale production begins.

The manager will coordinate across multiple functions, including engineering, operations, safety, quality, and training to ensure operational readiness.

The role is Adelaide based initially with travel to site required. The requirement to be on site is expected to increase towards the end of the construction phase of the project.

Experience required

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in a senior operational role within a mining, minerals processing, or related industrial setting, with experience in the commissioning and start-up of processing plants
• Experience in a leadership or managerial role focussed on operational readiness or plant commissioning
• Proven leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of mining processes, plant operations, equipment, systems and technologies
