Northern Star Resources currently has an exciting opportunity for an Underground Manager to lead the start‑up of two new underground mines as part of our Carosue Dam operations. This is a rare and pivotal moment, offering the opportunity to shape two operations from the ground up. You will lead through the setup phase and serve as the appointed Underground Manager for both sites, playing a critical role in establishing the sites, systems, processes, teams and overall operating model.

Here is what awaits you

  • Lead the establishment and safe start‑up of two new underground mines, guiding both operations from construction through to production.
  • Act as the appointed Underground Manager, holding statutory obligations while demonstrating visible safety leadership to deliver production safely.
  • Set and maintain an uncompromising safety standard, including regulatory reporting, compliance management and inspections.
  • Lead the development and implementation of succession and talent management frameworks, ensuring clear accountabilities, strong capability build, and consistent performance feedback.
  • Display a strong understanding of underground mining systems, processes and controls, with clear accountability for the safety of your teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure fit‑for‑purpose systems of work are in place to support mine design, planning, scheduling and execution.
  • Commit to and deliver on goals aligned to Northern Star’s strategy, identifying improvement opportunities and driving initiatives that create sustainable value and superior shareholder returns.

To thrive in this role, you will need

Experience:

Candidates should have technical and leadership experience in large scale underground mining operations, including contractor, project and people management. They should be decisive leaders with the ability to think critically, influence, communicate risks effectively, and deliver practical, value-driven plans.

Experience in multiple mining methods, mine startups will be highly regarded.

Qualifications:

  • WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering.
  • Site Senior Executive Certificate of Competency.
