Our Opportunity

Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

The Project Execution Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving safe and efficient project execution across site. The role ensures scopes are clearly defined, risks are managed, and work is delivered through to completion in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

This role works closely with internal teams, contractors, and SMEs to coordinate multi-discipline execution and deliver structured, practical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop clear and structured execution plans and construction methodologies, including scope, sequencing, resourcing and timing.
  • Coordinate multi-discipline project execution with support from SMEs managing contractors and stakeholders (internal and external) to achieve outcomes.
  • Drive delivery of work scopes through to completion, including close-out and sign-off.
  • Apply construction knowledge and QA/QC standards to ensure work is executed to required quality.
  • Identify, assess and manage project risks and emerging issues.
  • Interpret scope ambiguity and translate into clear, executable plans through consultation.
  • Track progress, priorities and deliverables across multiple work fronts.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in project execution within mining (iron ore preferred).
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, QA/QC, and site execution practices.
  • Proven experience in risk management and issue resolution.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in SAP, MS Project, and the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong overall computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated experience working across project lifecycle stages.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
