ABOUT CANNINGTON 

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Permanent position on a 7:7 roster, FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

As the Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for safely executing fixed plant maintenance within an operation area as per SAP processes, maintenance schedules, and work instructions as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Commit to safety and adhere to all work practices and procedures.
• Follow SAP processes for work execution and data entry, ensuring accuracy.
• Complete work orders on schedule, maintaining high standards and detailed records.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and resolve issues to improve equipment reliability

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Experience in a similar mechanical role, ideally within a refinery or process plant.
• SAP data entry and work order processing (desirable)
• Commitment to safe working practices

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Mechanical Fitter Trade certificate (Australian recognised) or Cert III in Mechanical Engineering (Fitter)
• Current Driver’s Licence
