Local HD Fitter

Your new company

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Duty Fitter to join our local Perth‑based maintenance team. This is a residential role, ideal for candidates looking for stable, long‑term work without FIFO travel, while still working on a diverse range of heavy mobile equipment.

This position will suit a trade‑qualified HD Fitter who takes pride in quality workmanship, safety, and working as part of a close‑knit team in a workshop and/or local field service environment.

Your new role

• Performing scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and breakdown repairs on heavy mobile equipment
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults
• Carrying out component change‑outs including engines, transmissions, pumps, brakes, and suspensions
• Conducting inspections in line with OEM specifications and company standards
• Completing job cards, service reports, and maintenance documentation accurately
• Working safely and efficiently while maintaining high housekeeping standards
• Liaising with supervisors, planners, and customers as required
• Contributing to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives

What you'll need to succeed

• Australian recognised Heavy Vehicle or Mobile Plant qualification (Cert III Heavy Diesel / Mobile Plant)
• Minimum 2+ years’ post‑trade experience
• Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault‑finding skills
• Experience working in workshop and/or local field service roles
• Ability to work autonomously and manage your day effectively
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and a team‑focused attitude
