Loader Operator

About the role

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Loader / Bogger Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of underground Load Haul Dump (LHD) equipment to support sub‑level cave production and development activities. You will contribute to ore movement through loading to ore passes, crushers and trucks while maintaining high equipment standards and supporting other underground tasks when required.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

• Operating large underground LHD units (preferably Sandvik LH517/621 or equivalent i‑series models) safely and efficiently
• Loading ore to passes, crushers or trucks to meet production targets
• Performing basic maintenance, inspections and housekeeping on assigned equipment
• Assisting with underground tasks such as service crew, truck driving or relief duties when needed
• Following all site procedures, hazard controls and safe work practices
• Ensuring strong communication and teamwork with production and technical teams
• Contributing to a safe work environment through hazard reporting and participation in safety initiatives

About you

We are seeking applicants with the following attributes, skills and experience:

• Experience operating large underground Load Haul Dump units (Sandvik LH517/621 or i‑series models preferred)
• Previous experience with Sandvik AutoMine (highly regarded but not essential)
• Previous underground dump truck experience (advantageous)
• A current manual driver’s licence
• Strong commitment to safety and consistent production performance
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to mentor others
