The Checkers processing plant at Mt Magnet is currently undergoing a A$223M expansion and upgrade to an initial 4.3Mtpa capacity, with construction expected to be completed in the September 2027 quarter.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced LV Mechanic to carry out maintenance, servicing, and repairs across our light vehicle fleet and generators. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will diagnose faults, complete scheduled servicing, and ensure our fleet remains safe and reliable to support day-to-day site operations.

Your key responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repairs on light vehicles and generators.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults in a timely manner.
• Parts identification, obtaining quotes and placing orders.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in workshop.
• Communicate effectively across crews and work teams.
• Support a positive team culture and collaborative problem-solving.
• Report safety incidents, risks, and operational issues promptly.
• Participate in the after-hours call-out roster.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.

About You

You are a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic with a safety-first mindset and hands-on experience maintaining vehicles and power generation equipment in a remote or industrial setting. You take pride in reliable, well-maintained plant and are comfortable working autonomously across a varied fleet.

You bring to the role:

• Trade qualification (Light Vehicle Mechanic).
• Prior experience in remote mining or heavy industrial environments.
• Sound diagnostic and fault-finding skills across a range of models.
• A current WA C-class driver's licence.
• A National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
• A forklift licence and/or HR/MR licence is desirable.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
