Jumbo Operator

About the role

Reporting to the Underground Mining Supervisor, this role will see you operating a twin arm Jumbo to support underground development activities safely and efficiently.

You’ll play a key part in achieving production targets across the mining cycle, while maintaining high safety and quality standards on every shift.

This is a hands-on role where you will:

• Operate a twin arm Jumbo for underground development drilling
• Bore development headings to required profiles and specifications
• Install ground support in line with the Ground Control Management Plan
• Assist with installation and maintenance of underground services and development activities
• Work to issued mine plans and maintain effective cross-shift communication
• Maintain high work quality and ensure all safety controls are followed
• Identify, report and manage hazards while promoting a strong safety culture
• Contribute to team performance as a senior member of the underground crew

You’ll also work closely with supervisors, technical services and other stakeholders to keep development progressing safely and efficiently.

About you

• Minimum 7 years’ underground mining experience
• Demonstrated experience operating twin arm Jumbo drills
• Strong understanding of underground development and mine services
• Sound knowledge of safe work practices and JSA systems
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
• Valid manual driver’s licence
• Supervisory or step-up experience will be highly regarded
• Most importantly, you are safety-focused, reliable and committed to delivering quality outcomes every shift

This roster is 7:7and a 12 hour day – (Thursday to Thursday). FIFO Perth or Residential Kalgoorlie.
