The Opportunity

Join our team as a HSEQ Advisor, where you will be responsible for identifying hazards, assessing risks and recommending appropriate controls to the construction team. Join us for an initial 3 – 6-month contract, FIFO opportunity on an 8/6 roster, travelling from Perth to Gruyere.

The Gruyere Gold Mine is an open pit operation located within the Yamarna greenstone belt approximately 200 kilometres east of Laverton in Western Australia.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Implement and maintain safety systems and drive a strong safety culture.
  • Attend team and supervisor meetings to plan and coordinate work activities; contribute to innovative project initiatives.
  • Report and investigate incidents, close out actions on time, review workpacks and SWMS, and promote safety.
  • Support site management to meet NELNA processes and project standards, and track safety performance.
  • Monitor safety, identify hazards and high-risk work, and ensure teams, subcontractors, and suppliers follow requirements..
  • Contribute to and support incident investigations, reporting hazards, injuries, and non-conformances while promoting learning and improvement.
  • Provide guidance and influence leaders and employees on OHS best practices, wellbeing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Notable and demonstrable experience in health and safety advisor level roles, ideally in construction, mining or other heavy industries.
  • Highly enthusiastic about workplace safety culture and training, with a genuine passion and proven experience in conducting safety reviews and investigations.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of policies and procedures, with proven experience in developing and implementing procedures to ensure safe on-site operations.
  • Hold a White Card, Driver’s licence and certifications (RIW card, First Aid, ICAM, Cert IV).
