Your new company

Our large mining client is seeking multiple experienced Underground HD Fitters to join their team, with a range of roster options available including 7/7, 2/1, and 2/2. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity offering a highly competitive hourly rate.

Your new role

• Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs on underground mobile equipment, including:
  • Loaders (LHD/ Boggers – e.g., Sandvik, CAT)
  • Underground trucks (e.g., MT65/6020)
  • Jumbo drill rigs (e.g., Sandvik DD421)
  • Production drills & service rigs
  • IT loaders, telehandlers, light vehicles
  • Auxiliary equipment such as generators, compressors and pumps
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults and apply efficient repair solutions.
• Complete component rebuilds and change-outs (engines, transmissions, final drives, differentials, steering, suspension, braking systems).

What you'll need to succeed

• Australian-recognised Trade Certificate – Heavy Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Mobile Plant Mechanic.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in underground mining or high‑pressure heavy mobile maintenance.
• Strong diagnostic ability across:
  • hydraulic systems
  • diesel engine systems
  • drivelines & powertrains
  • braking/steering systems
  • CAN‑bus & electronic controls (basic understanding)
• Ability to operate safely in confined underground spaces.
• Valid Manual C-Class driver's licence (HR desirable).
• National Police Clearance (within 12 months).
• Ability to pass full pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
