With major wind, solar and hybrid projects underway, the business is strengthening its Power Systems Performance function to support continued growth. You will join a high‑calibre engineering team dedicated to delivering best‑in‑class grid connection and power systems analysis across the full lifecycle of large‑scale renewable energy developments.

Your new role

As the Grid Specialist, you will play a key leadership role within the Power Systems Performance Analysis team. You will coordinate and mentor a small group of engineers, while leading complex studies and modelling activities to support grid connection, performance assessment and compliance across multiple wind, hybrid and battery energy storage projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating a team of power systems engineers across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Supporting the Head of Power Systems Performance in resource planning, technical escalation management, and client/stakeholder engagement.
  • Developing wind farm control system functional design specifications and reactive plant requirements.
  • Leading simulation and modelling work for wind, solar, hybrid and BESS projects, including system strength, weak grid and performance assessments.
  • Reviewing and assessing Balance of Plant (BoP) performance, efficiency and reliability, identifying inefficiencies and coordinating improvement actions.
  • Conducting BoP design and documentation reviews to ensure compliance with standards, regulations and project requirements.
  • Managing grid connection deliverables and ensuring timely, high‑quality submission to network service providers and system operators.
  • Preparing delivery plans, schedules and coordinating project progress meetings.
  • Presenting study outcomes to NSPs, ISOs and other regulatory bodies across the APAC region.
  • Leading investigations into technical performance inquiries and preparing formal reports and customer presentations.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and developing internal best‑practice processes.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and developing team capability in product‑specific technologies and modelling tools.
  • Maintaining accurate technical records and documentation across all grid connection activities.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Power Systems with 10+ years’ experience, or PhD with 6+ years.
  • Expert user of PSCAD, PSS/E and PowerFactory, plus strong Python automation skills.
  • Proven experience in power systems modelling, system strength or hybrid plant analysis.
  • Ability to interpret complex grid codes and lead grid compliance strategy.
  • Knowledge of STATCOMs, synchronous condensers, SVCs, HVDC or grid‑forming BESS advantageous.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with experience mentoring engineers.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
