Job Description

Who we are

Liontown Limited (ASX: LTR) is one of Australia's newest lithium producers. Our Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation in Western Australia is a tier-one asset with a 20+ year mine life, and we are building the team to match, including the next generation of surveying talent who will grow with the operation over the long term.

Our Operations division sits at the core of Liontown, and within it, our Mine Geology team supports safe, accurate and efficient underground mining through surveying, mapping and data analysis. As a graduate, you will be joining this team at the ground floor, learning directly from experienced surveyors on a genuine Tier-1 asset rather than a legacy or scaled-back site.

The opportunity

We are seeking a Graduate Mine Surveyor to join our team at Kathleen Valley, reporting to the Senior Surveyor – Underground Mine and working alongside experienced underground surveyors from day one. This is a genuine entry-level pathway, giving you hands-on exposure to underground survey work while you build the technical foundation for a long-term career in mine surveying. The role is based on site on an 8:6, 12-hour roster, flying in and out of Perth.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting with the collection of underground survey data, learning to accurately measure and record features such as tunnels, shafts and ore bodies.
  • Gaining hands-on experience with modern surveying instruments and technologies used in underground mining.
  • Contributing to the creation and maintenance of underground maps, plans and survey drawings.
  • Working closely with mining teams to understand surveying requirements for planning and development.
  • Providing surveying support during live mining operations.
  • Learning to analyse survey data and contributing to survey reports used in mine planning.

What we're looking for

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mine Surveying, Geomatics or a related field, completed or near completion.
  • A strong interest in mine surveying and underground mining operations.
  • Internships or coursework related to mine surveying (highly regarded though not essential.)
  • Valid Western Australian C Class Driver’s Licence
  • A willingness to develop proficiency in surveying instruments and technologies.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary mining team.
  • The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.

Why Liontown

You will join a structured graduate pathway with mentoring from experienced surveying professionals, and the chance to build real-world skills on a Tier-1 asset. Our operations are designed with sustainability at their core, powered by renewables and built for long-term impact.
