We are seeking Graduate Geologists to join our 2026/2027 Graduate Intake, offering hands‑on operational exposure and structured development to build a strong foundation for a long‑term career in mining geology.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Geologist, you will participate in a graduate program designed to provide exposure to a broad range of core geological activities. You will gain practical operational skills and be supported through mentoring and on‑the‑job training by experienced and enthusiastic geology leaders.
This role provides the opportunity to develop technical capability across production and operational geology while working within an established gold mining environment.
What you’ll be involved in
- Collecting and recording accurate geological and geochemical data
- Core processing, logging and sampling activities
- Geological mapping and observation of structural and lithological features
- Assisting with QA/QC processes and data integrity requirements
- Producing production and reconciliation reports with geological context
About you
You are curious, motivated and keen to begin your career in mining geology.
You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Geology (or graduating in 2026/2027)
- Strong computer literacy and communication skills
- A proactive approach to learning and teamwork
- A current manual C Class driver’s licence
- A National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to pass Westgold’s pre‑employment medical and D&A screening
Vacation work or practical industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
