The Role

We are currently recruiting for motivated Graduate Engineers to join our Utilities division, supporting the delivery of upcoming projects across regional Queensland. This role offers the opportunity to build and apply your engineering knowledge in a hands-on, supportive environment, while learning from a collaborative and high-performing site team. It’s a great opportunity to gain exposure across a dynamic program of projects running concurrently, accelerating your development as a Graduate Engineer.

In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers and site teams, assisting with reviewing drawings, coordinating subcontractors, conducting site inspections, and tracking project progress against key milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and organise project documents, including drawings, dockets, and registers, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor on-site activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and promptly reporting any discrepancies.
  • Review and interpret project drawings to ensure site activities align with project requirements.
  • Assist Senior Engineers with procurement, ensuring materials and resources are available when needed.
  • Familiarise yourself with and enforce compliance with the Site Management Plan (SMP) and Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP).
  • Actively participate in Prestart and Toolbox Talks, promoting safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ensure Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and checklists are signed off promptly for seamless project progression.
  • Compile and maintain quality assurance (QA) documentation, assisting Senior Engineers with submission processes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, cost factors, and construction methods to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities.
  • Support the project team with any additional tasks as required.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Degree in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical)
  • Exposure to engineering within the water sector is highly regarded
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Strong computer and systems skills and knowledge
