We are now seeking an Exploration Geologist to join our Underground Exploration team at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. This role is accountable to the Senior Exploration Geologist. This role is based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster; we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.

About the role:

• Maintaining a high standard of safety by complying with all relevant safety instructions and procedures
• Building and maintaining constructive relationships with AGAA staff and contractors
• Daily management of underground drill rigs, including data validation and data entry
• Mentoring of the Graduate and Exploration Geologists
• High quality geological logging of diamond drill core
• Design, coordination and management of drill programs
• Management of short-term drill schedule
• Interpretation and reporting of geological and geochemical results
• Geological and ore domain modelling
• Monitoring performance to plan of targets
• Weekly and monthly reporting
• Process and procedure improvements and updates
• Support the Exploration Team in the discovery of resources to meet annual depletion of resource/reserves

About you

• A relevant tertiary or postgraduate degree in Geology
• Prior experience working in an exploration role or as a mine geologist favourable
• Experience using 3D software, with Vulcan, Leapfrog or similar software highly regarded
• Experience geological logging of diamond drill core or RC chips
• Experience validating data and working with databases, such as Datashed
• Knowledge of QAQC practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Leadership and mentorship skills
• Permanent work rights in Australia
• Current C class Manual Driver’s License
• The ability to obtain a new National Police Clearance
