THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Senior Geologist, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of mine geology, Geological interpretation and processing and play a key role in ensuring data accuracy of the reports for the Company/Dept are completed in accordance with all compliance requirements.
This is a permanent full-time role which operates on a 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design post‑blast ore and waste mark‑outs to maximise recovery.
- Complete ore mark‑outs, spotting and bench mapping.
- Provide clear mining instructions to operators and ore spotters.
- Capture and validate daily geological and production data.
- Prepare and distribute geological plans and reports on time.
- Assist with end‑of‑month reconciliation and reporting.
- Manage ROM and stockpile processes to support plant requirements.
- Conduct geological and geotechnical mapping in active mining areas.
- Provide technical support and step in for the Senior Geologist when required.
- Collaborate with Mining, Drill & Blast, Production Engineering and Metallurgy teams.
- Support budgeting and cost management activities.
- Promote safe work practices and adherence to Critical Controls.
ABOUT YOU**:**
- Tertiary qualification in Geology or Geoscience (BSc or MSc).
- 2–3 years’ experience in hard‑rock mining, ideally in production geology.
- Proficient with Surpac and geological modelling software.
- Strong data accuracy, validation and reporting skills.
- Confident working independently and in a fast‑paced operational team.
- Effective communicator who can collaborate across multiple departments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
- WA C‑Class Driver’s Licence (essential).
- Experience with pegmatite deposits, grade control and stockpile management (desirable).
