Job Description
An opportunity is available for an experienced Electrician – Fixed Plant to join a well ‑ established mining operation in Far North Queensland . This is an ongoing role suited to electricians with strong fixed plant experience and a safety ‑ focused approach to work.
About the Role
You will be responsible for electrical inspections, maintenance, and breakdown support across fixed plant assets within an operational mine site. The role involves physically demanding work and requires a strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical inspections and preventative maintenance
- Execute planned and unplanned breakdown maintenance
- Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and service fixed plant electrical equipment
- Interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Identify and manage electrical risks on site
- Ensure compliance with Electrical Safety legislation and site procedures
- Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Trade qualified Electrician with a current QLD Electrical Licence
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar environment
- Strong fault ‑ finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs
- Safety focused, reliable, and team ‑ oriented
- LVR / CPR certification (essential)
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
- Experience in mining or heavy industry (highly regarded)
