Electrical Operator – Remote SA

About the Role

An opportunity is available for an Electrical Operator to join a well-established organisation supporting critical electrical and energy infrastructure in regional South Australia.

This role suits an experienced industrial electrician who is comfortable working in remote and FIFO environments, enjoys taking ownership of site activities, and brings a strong background across industrial, mining or power-related operations.

Your new role

Reporting to the operations team, you will be responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation and maintenance of electrical plant and associated infrastructure.

Your role will encompass both operational and hands-on technical responsibilities, requiring a high level of autonomy, sound judgement and a strong safety mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating, monitoring and maintaining electrical plant and systems
• Fault-finding, troubleshooting and breakdown response
• Performing preventative and corrective maintenance activities
• Supporting and coordinating contractors on site
• Participating in permit to work, isolation and switching activities
• Maintaining accurate documentation and site records
• Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and operational procedures
• Contributing to continuous improvement and reliability outcomes

About You / Requirements

• Electrical trade qualification with a current South Australian licence
• Demonstrated experience in industrial, mining, utilities or power‑related environments
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic capability
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote or FIFO setting
• High level of safety awareness and procedural discipline
• Experience working to permits, isolations and job safety documentation
• Current driver’s licence

Highly regarded

• High Voltage switching experience
• Exposure to power generation or heavy industrial plant
• Experience overseeing contractors or leading small teams
• Strong communication and reporting skills
