About the Role

Protech is currently seeking experienced Operators to join our team at Thiess’ Lake Vermont Mine. Lake Vermont Mine is located approximately 19 kilometres north of Dysart in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. Thiess delivers full-service mining operations at Lake Vermont, including overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul, coal mining, and rehabilitation activities

What’s in it for you:

• Reporting to the Production Superintendent, you will be accountable for operating heavy mobile equipment safely at the Lake Vermont Mine. You will work closely with your crew and the broader site team to achieve safe, high-quality outcomes.

We have multiple vacancies for the following skillsets:

• Experienced Haul Truck Operators (Operating CAT 789+)
• Experienced Multi-Skilled Operators (Rear Dump Trucks, Dozers, Graders, or Excavators)
• Experienced Excavator Operators (Operating 9600, 996 and 9800 Excavators)

About you:

• Demonstrated experience working within a mining environment, with exposure to hard rock operations highly regarded
• Minimum of 12 months operating production mining equipment such as Rear Dump Trucks, Dozers, Graders, or Excavators
• Proven experience operating large-scale excavators (600T+) within a coal mining setting
• SSE-signed training transcripts
• Valid Australian working rights
• Current driver’s licence
• Current Standard 11 certification
• Current Coal Board Medical (HA)
