About the Role
Redpath is delivering two ventilation shafts at the Appin Mine using drill‑and‑blast blind‑sinking methods, managing full design, construction and sinking to support long‑term mine ventilation needs.The Control Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of site control, safety and communications systems across hoisting, underground mining technologies, power distribution, fixed and wireless communications, and balance-of-plant infrastructure. This is your opportunity to work on a major ventilation Shaft project with a global underground mining contractor!
Key Responsibilities
- Keep control systems running smoothly by responding to faults and alarms.
- Find and fix issues with control, electrical, instrumentation and communication systems.
- Maintain and update PLC, SCADA and HMI systems to support daily operations.
- Carry out routine checks, testing and calibration of control and instrumentation equipment.
- Support commissioning, shutdowns, breakdowns and maintenance work across site.
- Keep accurate documentation and ensure all system changes follow safety and MOC requirements.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical or Automation Engineering
- Experience with mine hoists (highly regarded)
- Experience with Rockwell Automation systems (highly regarded)
- Functional or Machine Safety certification (highly regarded)
- Minimum 3 years’ mining experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong problem‑solving skills
- Leadership capability
- Strong analytical thinking
