About the Company
Pearl Recruitment is seeking an experienced Plasma Operator for our Forrestfield-based client who specialise in precision metal processing and heavy-duty fabrication. This position offers ongoing work on a rotating roster with a genuine pathway to permanent employment.
About the Role
Plasma Operator Forrestfield workshop location 4/4 rotating roster - (4 days on / 4 off / 4 nights on / 4 off) $49.99 per hour + superannuation Ongoing temporary-to-permanent opportunity Immediate start available
Key Responsibilities
- Operating CNC Plasma machinery safely and efficiently
- Loading programs, setting cutting parameters and calibrating machinery
- Selecting, preparing and positioning steel plate for cutting
- Reading cutting schedules, instructions and specifications
- Inspecting raw materials and finished products for quality and accuracy
- Adjusting cutting parameters where required
- Monitoring machine performance and completing basic troubleshooting
- Using overhead cranes to move steel plate and materials
- Chipping, grinding and cleaning finished profiles
- Completing routine machine maintenance
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Participating in toolbox talks, safety meetings and workplace training

What You Require to Be Successful?
- Previous CNC Plasma operating experience (essential)
- Forklift Licence with operating experience - (essential)
- Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport
- Ability to read cutting schedules, specifications and work instructions
- Previous steel processing or manufacturing experience
- Overhead crane experience and Kinetic K5200 experience (including bevelling, drilling, milling, tapping or countersinking) - all desirable not essential
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol assessment
- Unrestricted Australian working rights
- Ability to provide a national police clearance
