Redpath Mining is seeking experienced Charge Up Operators to join our underground teams across the Norseman region. Working on a 7/7 roster, you’ll support blasting activities safely and efficiently while contributing to a strong safety and team culture.

About the Role

Charge Up Operators are sought for underground blasting support in the Norseman Region (OK, Scotia & Bullen). The successful candidate will operate on a 7/7 roster and contribute to a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out Charge Up operations in line with site procedures and blast designs
• Handle, transport, and use explosives safely and compliantly
• Perform charging, priming, tie‑ins, firing and misfire management
• Maintain accurate records and complete all safety documentation
• Conduct pre-start checks, workplace inspections (Take 5’s, JSAs)
• Ensure work areas are barricaded and signposted correctly
• Work closely with supervisors, surveyors and production teams
• Report hazards, incidents, and near misses immediately
• Support continuous improvement and safe work practices across the team

Qualifications & Certifications

• Previous underground Charge Up / Blasting experience
• Current WA Shotfirer’s Licence (or ability to obtain)
• Valid Manual Driver’s Licence
• Current First Aid & CPR
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow procedures
• Able to work independently and as part of a small crew
