About the Role

Charge Up Operator – Dugald River Project2:2 Roster | FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or CairnsJoin the team at the Dugald River Project and play a critical role in safe, high-performing underground mining operations.As a Charge Up Operator, you’ll be responsible for the safe handling, preparation, and charging of explosives in line with site procedures and regulatory requirements. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will directly contribute to efficient, high-quality blasting outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to company values, safety standards, and site procedures at all times.
• Safely handle, transport, and charge explosives underground
• Accurately interpret blast plans and maintain detailed records of explosive usage across all firing activities
• Manage magazine stock with strict control, ensuring accurate tracking, compliance, and accountability
• Proactively identify, assess, and safely manage misfires in accordance with site procedures
• Conduct thorough, safety-first re-entries, ensuring work areas are stable and compliant before resuming operations
• Charge development headings to specification, maintaining consistency and quality
• Prepare stopes, complete charging, and perform precise ring hook-ups for optimal blast outcomes
• Ensure responsible use of materials and compliant waste disposal in line with environmental standards
• Rigorously follow all site-based procedures, instructions, and safety requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an underground mining environment
• Ability and willingness to operate other mobile plant as required
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Queensland Blaster’s Licence
• Valid manual driver’s licence
• Current First Aid & CPR certification
• Current Working at Heights qualification
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a current police clearance
